Some 125 friends gathered to celebrate the opening of our small business loan client, Yonkers Brewing Company, sampling the craft beer in pints and growlers, tasting hops, playing Pong and learning about the ways alternative lenders like Community Capital help small businesses like John and Nick’s to launch, grow and hire. Thanks to all who attended and brought guests, to X20’s Peter Kelly for presenting the “Blood, Sweat and Beers” award for entrepreneurship to the owners of Yonkers Brewing Company, and thanks especially to our board chair Lee Lasberg and Key Bank’s president Ruth Mahoney for co-hosting, and to our Board Members Paul Weisenfeld, Anna Georgiou and Bruce Kaminstein who helped seed our Pong game with some wonderful prizes. And a big thank you to sponsors Key Bank and NYBDC!
