Welcoming Kelly Almanzar, Our New Chief Lending Officer

April 7, 2023
Kelly Almanzar

Community Capital New York is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Kelly Almanzar as Chief Lending Officer.

Kelly has worked at national banks, community-based lenders, and nonprofit institutions as Director of Lending, National Product Manager, Residential Lending Manager, and in other key roles over a career spanning two decades. Most recently, Kelly served as Vice President of Lending at Progress Funding. There he managed loan origination, underwriting, processing, and quality control, recruited and led staff, handled client service, and oversaw regulatory compliance and reporting.

Throughout his career in mortgage and business lending, Kelly has sought to meet the needs of first-time homebuyers and low-to-moderate income borrowers, and he brings that same focus to his work at Community Capital New York. As Chief Lending Officer, Kelly will lead our lending team in securing financing for developers of high-quality affordable housing in the Hudson Valley and providing small business loans and technical assistance to members of underserved communities to help them start, build, and sustain successful businesses and create jobs.

“We are pleased to welcome Kelly Almanzar as our new Chief Lending Officer,” said Ian J. Benjamin, Interim President and CEO of Community Capital New York. “Kelly brings tremendous experience, a strong sense of purpose, and a genuine desire to help our clients, and we wish him every success.”

“I am excited to join Community Capital New York, a mission-driven lender with a 33-year track record, a dedicated team, and a reputation for caring,” said Kelly. “Growing up as the son of immigrants in New York City, I know how important affordable housing and capital access are for people in underserved communities to advance economically and build better lives for themselves. I am grateful to be able to address those needs through my work at Community Capital New York.”

Kelly is a graduate of Lehman College of the City University of New York and speaks fluent Spanish. He lives in Stamford, Conn., with his son and daughter, and he enjoys running and motorcycle riding. Kelly can be reached at kalmanzar@communitycapitalny.org.
