We know entrepreneurs need much more than just financing. We were thrilled to be able to invite several strong women entrepreneurs to the Women’s Leadership Summit: Ignite Your Power 2019 at Manhattanville College. At Community Capital New York, we are committed to finding ways to educate and inspire our loan clients to be more successful. So many of our clients are solopreneurs who don’t have the opportunity to get out and spend time with other inspiring women leaders. These women entrepreneurs escaped their businesses for the day and connected with other like-minded aspirational women, including corporate, non-profit, and small businesses.
It was a motivating day providing valuable insights that contribute to leadership. Mecca E. Santana, SVP, Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement, Westchester Medical Center Health Network, reinforced that by allowing our authentic self to shine through is critical to a more rewarding career in so many ways. Denise D’Agostino, Karen Kirchner and Ellen Keithline Byrne of Her New Standard broke down three key ingredients for developing a more powerful presence. Umran Beba, Chief Diversity & Engagement Officer, Pepsico, wrapped the day for us by sharing her steps in reaching the C-suite by taking risks and being open-minded to taking the less obvious path that generated unique critical experiences to build her value to the boardroom.
Clara Cohen, president, Business Infrastructure Solutions, and CCNY client, exclaimed, “The 5th Annual Women’s Leadership Summit was one of the most inspiring events I have attended recently! Empowered women, like-minded professionals, and some improv fun made this event one to remember. It’s great to meet other accomplished women and realize that we all face and overcome similar obstacles. I am proud to be included in this amazing community, and I look forward to the next summit!”
Jan Albanese, VP Lending, CCNY, shared, “I felt like a proud mom watching our invited clients network and engage so enthusiastically at the Women’s Leadership Summit.”
In our effort to provide business advisory training to our clients, Julieta McPherson, VP Lending, CCNY, is planning several workshops for our clients this fall.
