Community Capital New York Welcomes Ian J. Benjamin as Interim President & CEO
November 22, 2022We are delighted to announce the recent appointment of Ian J. Benjamin as our Interim President & Chief Executive Officer. Ian has served the New York region nonprofit community for more than thirty-five years. His most recent assignments as Interim Executive Director have been at Greater Newark Conservancy, Volunteers of Legal Service and Riverdale Neighborhood House. As a CPA based in NYC, Ian retired in 2019 as a partner at RSM where he led the northeast nonprofit audit, tax and consulting practice.
As Interim President & CEO, Ian will closely partner with the board and staff to ensure CCNY’s work continues, the mission advances, and goals are met until a new executive leader is secured. During this period CCNY will continue to extend predevelopment loans and other gap financing to affordable housing developers across New York State, and support small business owners through business loans and technical assistance throughout the lower Hudson Valley.
Ian comments, “I am honored to join CCNY during this time of change. While the board searches for the next President & CEO, I am committed to continuing the mission and strategic direction forward seamlessly. I look forward to collaborating with staff and board members to continue CCNY’s great mission and work, and to help guide the organization through the transition to a permanent President & CEO.”
“After conducting a comprehensive search of candidates for this position, we are thrilled to welcome Ian to CCNY. Ian has an extensive background in nonprofit and financial leadership. We are confident he is the right person to lead CCNY during this period of transition,” says William Merz, CCNY’s Board Chairperson.
The Board of Directors and staff of Community Capital New York welcome Ian onboard and look forward to working with him. Ian can be reached at ibenjamin@communitycapitalny.org.
